I was streaming around Google plus checking out some of the Pleeps I follow when I noticed a fellow local whom I've circled, Jason
Nielobowicz, who'd posted this beautiful photo of Broughton Street in Savannah Georgia. It got me thinking about Savannah and how much I miss it so I decided to share a little about this great place, thank you Jason.
I moved to the Savannah area nearly a decade ago after visiting and falling in love with this magnificent territory as do many others who come to see the sights and attractions. Savannah has a deep history that stretches back more than 200 hundred years, the charm and eclectic atmosphere are electric with a smooth relaxing calm, that can only be felt walking the streets around the many squares of Savannah. Broughton street is an avenue of lights and bustle that simmers with pure aroma. From the fresh air that sweeps all around coming from the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Savannah River to the north to the glittering glow of theater lights, it's a place that seems dreams are made of and time stands still. Come check it out if you ever have the chance. You won't regret it.
Yes, it certainly seems I'm pouring on the sugar, and maybe a little I am, BUT everything is better with a little sugar on it. One things clear for all who've ever been to Savannah Georgia, especially those of us blessed with living here or so near, it is a place where dreams can come true if even for a little while.
